Free Atkins Diet Sample Menu

Thinking about going low carb but not sure what it's all about?  Let's see if we can answer some questions about the Atkins low carb diet as well as provide a free Atkins sample diet menu.

Founded by Doctor Atkins with the belief that obesity was the result of A) carb overload coupled with  B) an individual's highly sensitive reaction to carbs, the Atkins diet has rendered great results in some individuals, and not-so-good results in others.  

There are some individuals who may put their health at great risk while on a low carb diet plan, so it's always a good idea to get a doctor's approval - but that's standard for any diet plan.

Basically, a low carb diet restricts processed carbs. This includes starchy food objects - even starchy vegetables, such as potatoes. A few other no-no's include breads, pastas and foods that are sugary.

Free Atkins Sample Diet Menu

Breakfast - A three egg omelet.

Lunch - Chicken breast topped with cheese. Two cups of the following mix of vegetables: mushrooms, peppers, parsley, celery, radishes, cucumber, sorrel. chives, chicory, fennel, alfalfa sprouts.

 

Dinner - Ground beef browned, seasoned and wrapped in a lettuce leaf.  Cheese, sour cream and salsa would also be allowed.
