The Rice Diet Plan

Supposedly, the Rice Diet Plan reduces cholesterol, blood pressure, heart size, abnormal blood sugar, and oh yes- weight!  The Rice Diet Plan lays claim to decreasing the need for medications for certain health problems, sometimes eliminating the need for such medications.

The Rice Diet Plan was developed by the folks at Duke University  - although other clinics are springing up offering weight loss 'the rice way'.  The diet was originally intended as a treatment for diabetes (abnormal blood sugar), hypertension (high blood pressure), and obesity.  The diet plan is low in fat, and low in sodium content.

The Rice Diet is a medically supervised diet program which touts quick results.

  • Please note that some people are allergic to rice, which may cause complications with the diet plan.
  • The Rice Diet Plan is a fad diet plan.
  • Fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, fish and legumes are also an important part of the Rice Diet Plan.
  • Although the name 'Rice Diet' is used to define the diet, it is not based on a 'rice' as being the bull's eye of the diet.
